The Obby Wiki (or OW) is an independent and community-run wiki for all information and archives about Roblox obbies that anyone can improve on and contribute to. We are a small and niche group of dedicated contributors passionate about the Roblox obby scene. If you're looking for how to contribute, featured obbies, and new up-to-date information on obbies that just released, check out our home page. We think it would be perfect if that's you. How can I help?
Anyone is free to create an account and begin editing. We recommend new contributors start by reading our Contributing guide as it covers the basics on creating and editing new articles, as well as their eligibility requirements.
Why use the Obby Wiki over a Fandom alternative?
Semantic Articles and Custom Implementations
One thing we do different than Fandom is the use of Cargo, an in-house MediaWiki alternative to Semantic MediaWiki. This helps our editors and contributors quickly write articles without worrying about formatting or pulling live statistics as we update them automatically with our custom modules, templates, extensions, and implementations. This offers more structure and clean organization of content compared to a Fandom-hosted wiki or even Miraheze or another alternative.
Additionally, as of the 21st of March, 2026, the Obby Wiki introduced purpose-built integrated edge endpoints to speed up page loads and fetching.
JSON-LD
With the Obby Wiki, we generate purposed JSON-LD data so search engines can immediately figure out the context of a page and its main contents.
Reliability and redundancy
We have automatic backups at 12-4 AM UTC every day, ensuring no data is lost and even if the server is miraculously destroyed or unrecoverable no more than 24 hours of content is possibly lost. We also back up data regularly ourselves and especially before maintenance. We have never need a backup and never lost user data and contributions.
Dedicated
We are specifically dedicated to obbies which provides a unique advantage so search engines know to come to us for all queries relating to them. We also ensure consistent quality and do not spam low-quality articles with low relevance that search engines previously found with no alternative before we were founded in April of 2025.
Independent
Help support a truly independent wiki! Your contributions help us grow bigger and bigger, providing more information about the history, culture, and status of obbies on Roblox.
Minimum Service Commitment Date
The Obby Wiki remains committed to keep the lights on to at least January 1st, 2027. We plan to remain operational much longer and until there is no demand at all, but at the bare minimum we will remain in service to at least that date. You can trust us with your time and contributions. We're always bumping our minimum commitment date, so check back later!
For Developers
Are you an experienced developer in the MediaWiki scene or even a new beginner? We do things the same and also a little differently! You may notice that a lot (and soon all) of our modules are minified. That is because we use DarkLua and custom polyfill/compat scripts to transpile modern Luau (2025 editions) to Lua 5.1. Our original source code is available in Luau on our shared modules/templates GitHub repository, which you can find below in the Helpful Links section. Our custom extensions, other forks, and more of our software tools -- including our CI uploader WikiWire -- are also available on our GitHub organization below.

Is the Obby Wiki hosted by Fandom?
No, the Obby Wiki is not on Fandom nor is it hosted by Fandom. The Obby Wiki is independent and a direct and modern replacement to the old and outdated Fandom 'Roblox Obby Wiki'. Unlike the legacy obby wiki on Fandom, we begun with more strict content guidelines and quality expectations, as well as more technology and less artificial limits that were imposed on the (legacy) Roblox Obby Wiki and the (legacy) Roblox Obbies Wiki.
