A Tower Obby is an obby sub-genre popularized since early 2018 by popular tower game EoTH (Eternal Towers of Hell) and is one of the few obby sub-genres officially recognized in Roblox's official genres system. The genre, in essence, is an obby that is confined by the limits of a tower. There is nothing governing how "tower-like" the tower has to be, only that the obby primarily is confined in a vertical space and progresses upwards, however, it can also be downwards.
While not directly invented by EoTH (and somewhat by Tower of Hell), they would likely be nowhere near their current popularity. Tower Obbies have been played billions of times and counting.
