Not to be confused with New Obby Master, Obby Master Revitalized

Obby Master is a round-based obby/platforming game from September of 2018 developed and published by Nicknation Games and Nicknation subsidiary Obby Master Universe exclusively on Roblox, the largest Nicknation title to date. The game is available on PC/Desktop, Tablet, Phone (Android/iOS), VR, and Console (PlayStation and Xbox). Significantly popular around 2019-2021, the game is rarely played now and is a relic of the past, yet is still maintained and regularly re-visted. A few attempts of revitalizing Obby Master have occurred, with titles such as Obby Master Revitalized and New Obby Master popping up in 2020 and 2025 respectively.

Gameplay

Players wait in a lobby before voting and teleporting to a map of any difficulty ranging from Easy to Insane, depending on what they voted on. Players must complete the level to avoid losing and they only get one chance per map, having to wait for the next round if they die. Players typically have 60 seconds to beat each given obby/map, and receive a reward based on the difficulty of the obby/map beaten.

Game Modes

Game modes are a different way to play the game. Currently, they are no longer available within Obby Master.

Normal

The regular and default game-mode. Most of the gameplay described is in this game-mode.

Noob Server

This game-mode, split by a different server, offers only a selection of easy and medium rated maps.

Pro Server

The pro server game-mode, in contrast to the Noob Server game-mode, only offers Hard and Insane maps in its pool.

Survival Mode

An experimental mode where players must consecutively beat a map of each difficulty.

Nostalgia Server

This game-mode only offers removed maps.

Map Testing

This server offers maps that may be added to the game in the future. It isn't always open, but can be accessed by the public when new maps are being tested.

Currently there are 132 maps/obbies by 54 creators in total that are active, playable, and in voting rotation with-in Obby Master.

Map Voting

Maps can be voted on at the end of the lobby after each round. Once voted, a player can change their vote at any time before the end of the voting time. Three random maps of any difficulty and by any creator are cast into the voting pool. If no votes are cast or there is a tie, a random obby is chosen.

Completion

From the menu under 'Map List', is a shallow list of all the maps in Obby Master and your personal completion status. Listed A-Z, it displays each map (currently only 95 of them) and your completion time, if you have completed it. It also displays your mastery points.

Map Difficulties

In Obby Master, a map can be one of four difficulties:

Easy: The most common but easiest type of map in Obby Master.
Medium
Hard
Insane: The hardest but rarest type of map in Obby Master.

Create Your Own Map

Obby Master accepts map submissions by Roblox developers in turn for their maps being featured and credited to them. Each map requires a manual submission via Discord. Each map must be built with the Obby Master's Map Kit model. Instructions are listed in the model itself.

Obby Master Map Rules

Your map must not be too short. A general baseline is more than 15 seconds of gameplay.
Your map must not be 'too laggy'. Keep parts within a reasonable limit.
Your map must be consistent with its selected difficulty.
Your map must abide by the Roblox ToS and Community Guidelines. It must be suitable for all ages.
Your map must be well lit with all jumps and obstacles being clearly visible.
You cannot use free models except those certified by Roblox during the creation of your map.
Your map cannot have secret shortcuts or pathways.
You cannot re-use a layout or route from a map already in Obby Master or any other game. A style is not restricted.
Your map's design style must make sense.

Obby Master Maps Allowed Difficulties

You can make a map any difficulty in the game; easy, medium, hard, or insane.

Obby Master Map Development Notes

Name your map model along the format YourNameHere <Difficulty>, e.g., My Map <Hard>
Your map short be a model named in the mentioned format and have two models underneath called 'Teleports' and 'Map'. You should also have the 'End' part which will count as your win pad.
Keep the exact amount of spawns from the kit intact
Do not change the class of the spawns from the kit into SpawnLocations, that will break your map.

Currency

Within Obby Master, there are 2 forms of currency; Cash and Mastery Points. You can purchase items such as Gears, Trails, and Titles from the Shop with Cash, but cannot do anything with Mastery Points. Every currency saves when you leave.

Direct Cash Purchase

You can directly purchase Cash with Robux as an alternative to playing and beating maps/obbies. Below are the purchasing tiers:

$200 for 10 Robux
$500 for 25 Robux
$1,000 for 50 Robux
$2,000 for 100 Robux
$5,000 for 250 Robux
$10,000 for 500 Robux

There are no discounts for buying a higher purchase tier. At the given exchange rate, Cash is worth 0.05 Robux per $1.

Item Shop

The first option in the menu is the shop, which houses Gears, Trails, and Titles for Cash. Each item is mainly cosmetic. If an item is within your balance, the price tag will appear in yellow, otherwise it will be red.

A purchase of any item is saved but requires being equipped every time the game is launched.

Obby Master was originally the first dedicated focus of the first Obby Interwiki Project, but was later cancelled as the total contents of the game was condensable into a single page.^[2]
Players can enable 'AFK mode' in the menu, which ignores them during the round starting process. If all players in a server are in AFK mode, the top text will say 'Umm... 1 more player. Please.'

Joe's Secret Temple

A hidden place, hiding deep within the lobby somewhere under a bunker behind the waterfall, is an access point to Joe's Secret Temple, a laser showdown that requires 50 rank points to access, and is very difficult to complete.
